Tolliday and Howell took the early lead with a level par round (playing Better Ball) completing the Oxfordshire in just under 2 hours, but whilst they set the pace in score they could not keep up with the speed of the other two groups.

Following The Oxfordshire was a 50 minute drive to the next centre, Sandford Springs Golf club, Reading, for a further 27 holes. Scores were fairly close but the Dale hill boys managed to extend their lead by a couple of shots by producing a score of 1 under for the 27 holes.

A further 2 hour drive around the M25 gave a welcome rest for the players as they made their way to Chart Hills Golf club, Kent. Completion of this 18 holes would be well over the half way mark.

John and Craig managed to shoot a score of 2 under par for Chart Hills, extending their lead by a further few shots.
Home turf was in sight after a 30 minute drive to Dale Hill, East Sussex for John  and Craig where they were to complete a further 36 holes around the Ian Woosnam Course shooting a  level par round, and finally the Dale Hill Course with a 2 under par score to complete the 99 holes in 5 under par.

Many members supported the players over the final 18 holes and there was a great atmosphere around the course and clubhouse to follow.

The Dale Hill boys managed to win the challenge with the Leaderboard Driving range in 2nd place and the Sandford Springs team coming in 3rd place, although it has to be said the Sandford team would have quite easily won a prize for completing in the least amount of time. 

With the support of all the sponsors Dale Hill Managed to raise just over £3200 which will be split evenly between the Dale Hill Captains charities, Multiple Sclerosis and Muscular Dystrophy. A BIG THANK YOU to everyone concerned in the day for your sponsorship and support at the event. 

The players all thoroughly enjoyed the day finishing around 9pm, and are now trying to work out how they can top the challenge for next year

 They will play all the Leaderboard owned courses in one day to raise money for selected charities. Each pair will play better ball competition around the 99 holes that Leaderboard have:

Sandford Springs juniors triumph in the third annual Leaderboard Trophy. The annual competition which is contested by all four of the Leaderboard clubs - Dale Hill Hotel & Golf Club Chart Hills The Oxfordshire and Sandford Springs - is played in singles over 18 holes in Stableford format. The victory came as a surprise to the club since last year they could not muster enough juniors to enter. However thanks to an increased junior section and initiative from the club Sandford were not only able to field a full team but win the event for the first time on home soil. The triumphant eight-strong team comprised Jordan Beales (handicap 10) Chris Blunden (8) Michael Constantine (20) Conor Egan (28) Jon Fleet (5) Charlie Penn (24) Nicholas Penn (18) and Matt Wild (16). The team won with an impressive total of 220 points - five better than Chart Hills on 215. Dale Hill mustered 208 points and The Oxfordshire finished a further six points adrift on 202 points. Sandford's star player was13-year-old Nicholas Penn was mustering a magnificent 38 points helping to secure victory. Jordan Beales also from Sandford Springs won the longest drive competition. Graeme Hamlett trainee professional at Sandford Springs said: The junior section has gone from strength to strength this year and we are all delighted with their performance. The unique north Hampshire course which offers the challenge of three separate loops of nine holes will give visitors the chance to take a look around the club meet the staff and view its impressive facilities at first hand. The club is also offering potential members the chance to sample nine holes of the picturesque course on the day for free when confirming their attendance in advance. Alice Walker the membership development manager at Sandford Springs said: Golf clubs can be slightly intimidating places which are a little out of reach - at Sandford Springs we are keen to show that is definitely not the case. Sandford Springs has an excellent reputation for being an open hospitable and friendly club and anyone coming to see us will be assured of a warm welcome. We are immensely proud of the club and all the hard work that goes in to maintain it. But we don't want people to take our word for it we want them to come along and sample the delights of Sandford Springs Golf Club for themselves. Arlington Football Club has risen from the ashes after being in the wilderness for six years to reform as Arlington Re-United Football Club thanks to a sponsorship deal with Sandford Springs Golf Club. The Hampshire-based golf club has come to the rescue of Arlington Re-United enabling them to reform after a six year absence from division two of the Newbury Football Sunday League. The sponsorship deal lasts a year and represents Sandford Springs' commitment to supporting the local community. The deal will see Sandford Springs providing the team with their strip. Paul Bulger an Arlington Re-United player said: The sponsorship deal means a great deal to the football club. We are happy and proud to be associated with such a well respected golf club in the local community. The team folded six years ago because one of the main organisers came down seriously ill. The club has recently been looking to come back but due to financial restraints it needed a sponsor luckily Sandford stepped in and has made it possible. Obviously it is expensive to run a football team and without Sandford's contribution it would be hard to keep the club running. A team of four lady golfers from Sandford Springs Golf Club have won the Corhampton Centenary Shield after defeating 40 teams from across Hampshire in the final at Corhampton Golf Club. Mandy Blunden Carole Willey Lynda Knight and Norah McPhail defied the rain and sodden course to defeat the likes of North Hants and Royal Winchester golf clubs to capture the centenary shield for the first time in its 18-year history. The event is open to ladies from across Hampshire and is a 36-hole medal competition off ¥ handicaps. Blunden and Willey set the pace with Knight and McPhail going out in the afternoon and attempting to beat the scores set on each individual hole during the morning round. The pairings were a huge success as the ladies carded a stunning 68 ¥ to claim the title by a single stroke from Andover Golf Club who finished with a score of 69 ¥. Traditionally Sandford Springs had not performed too well in the event and was considering retiring from the competition. So for the club to win the trophy was a real surprise to all concerned. Blunden said: We've never done too well in the event in the past and were thinking about withdrawing from it this year. But we gave it another shot - even though it was pelting down with rain all day - and ironically we won it. Lynda and Norah did really well in the afternoon to get better scores on the holes we needed to improve but the good thing about the format is it helps the afternoon pair know where they have to do it. Teammate McPhail added: We're all very pleased to win it and we were complimented by the other ladies' teams for our very impressive play in the conditions.
